Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate my time card?
For each day, subtract clock-in from clock-out, then subtract unpaid break time. Sum the daily results for the week. Our calculator does all steps automatically, including the decimal conversion payroll systems require.
How is overtime calculated?
Under US federal law (FLSA), hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek are overtime, paid at 1.5× the regular rate. Enter your hourly rate and the calculator splits regular and overtime pay.
What is 7 hours 30 minutes in decimal?
7 hours 30 minutes = 7.5 decimal hours. Divide minutes by 60: 30 ÷ 60 = 0.5. See the minutes-to-decimal page for a full conversion chart.
